Product Description

  • Substrate: MS polymer
    MS521 is a one-component sealant based on MS polymer, which belongs to moisture curing type. The curing speed of the sealant is related to the temperature and humidity of the environment. It will cure rapidly in high temperature or high humidity environment, while low temperature and low humidity will delay this process. The final cure time is also related to the thickness of sealant.  MS521 is a general-purpose sealant with low and medium modulus, high elongation and good resilience. It is suitable for various porous and non-porous materials. It has the outstanding characteristics of good adhesion, sandability and paintability, which is a high-performance general-purpose elastomeric sealant.

    Features:
    1. Low odor, low VOC, free of isocyanic acid, PVC and organic solvents, safe to use.
    2. Resistant to UV, high temperature and severe cold weather, with a service life of more than 20 years.
    3. After curing, the shrinkage rate is very low, the shape is good with no depression, and the gluing place is smooth and bright.
    4. It can be used for the sealing of food storage and transportation vehicles, and meets the safety requirements of FDA food contact materials.
    5. Low temperature resistance, can maintain good elasticity and adhesion in the range of -40 ℃ ~ 90 ℃.

    Application:
    MS521 is suitable for elastomeric sealing of joints of various substrates, including stainless steel, aluminum, copper, PVC, polyester, ceramics, wood and coatings, etc.. It is used for general sealing in the industrial manufacturing industry.

    Application areas:
    1. The elastomeric sealing of the joints in the boxes such as cars and containers, such as the elastomeric sealing of the butt joints and lap joints between the top, side and reinforcement plates of the box.
    2.  Waterproofing and sealing of various gaps in the construction of metal structures, such as fume hoods, ventilation pipes, warehouses and plank houses.
    3. Elastomeric sealing of welding seam and interface parts, anti-corrosion protection sealing of rivets, bolts, etc..

    Application tips:
    1. The surface to be bonded must be clean and dry without putty before bonding.
    2. The substrate that can ooze oil is not suitable for direct application of sealant.
    3. For the rusted or corroded metal surfaces (such as aluminum oxide oxidation, copper/iron oxidation rusty surface), in order to ensure the bonding effect, the rust floating on the surface needs to be worn away before gluing.
    4. Due to the differences in construction environment, construction methods and materials, in order to ensure the bonding performance, pre-test is required before use.
    5. The best sealant application temperature is +15℃~+40℃. When the temperature of the environment is low, the extrusion resistance increases, and the sealant can be used after it is warm.

    Storage and transportation tips:
    Storage period: 12 months for soft packaging and 9 months for hard packaging in dry and cool environment.
    Recommended storage temperature: 10 ℃ ~ 25 ℃ (no more than 45 ℃)
    1 - Storage in a dry and low temperature environment will help extend the warranty period of the product.
    2 - Due to the different sealing performance of various packaging materials, some of which will shorten the storage period. The actual storage period shall be subject to the packaging identification.
    3 - Please refer to the material safety data sheet for storage and transportation operations and comply with the relevant national and local laws and regulations.
